   LEADING

   THE WAY

Welcome to the MU Med/Peds Website.  Med/Peds is relatively new to the University of Missouri, graduating our first resident in 2001.  Since then, 75% of our graduates have stayed in Primary care.  As you’ll see throughout the website, these graduates may have found dramatically different practice environments.  That’s one example of the ingenuity and innovation that is often found in our residents and is the cornerstone of our program.

Today, MU Med/Peds residents continue to find new ways to build a

Laura Gonzalez, MD

successful program.  With the guidance of our Program Director, Dr. Robert Lancey, we have begun our own conferences, community service programs, and social events.  Despite these collective accomplishments our residents still have time to find their own niches, taking additional clinic assignments in Primary Care Pediatrics, Infectious Disease, and Genetics.  Outside of work, many of our colleagues enjoy spending time with their families, travel, and embarrassing themselves on the Pediatrics Softball Team.

The outlook for your program is for continued growth through a number of avenues.  Our residents continue to hold office in the hospital’s House staff Organization, sit on a wide array of GME and hospital committees, participate in clinical research activities and pursue fellowship opportunities.  One thing is for sure:  MU Med/Peds residents continue to Lead The Way…
