He studied
pre-medical sciences at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania and he
received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas
Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
During his medical
school education, Pete became a member of the National Health Services
Corps and was active in creating his own community service program in
Mexico, Maine. Pete further enriched his medical school education through the
completion of a student-fellowship in Pathology, during which he
functioned as a resident physician in pathology for one year.
During his residency at UMHC Pete proved a
prolific and effective leader. Pete was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA)
early in his residency. After serving in the Housestaff Organization,
he became its President in his last year which involved sitting on many
committees and meeting representing residents’ views on important issues
such as the electronic medical record and resident work hours. Pete
became the second Chief Resident for our program in 2005 and pioneered
the Core Curriculum, strengthened our other conferences, and worked on
defining a Med/Peds image. After graduation, Pete is leaving to fulfill
his National Health Service Corps obligations in the area around
Orlando, FL in primary care. |
