Heidi comes back to the Midwest after earning her MD from Loma Linda University in California.  Having grown up in North Dakota, Heidi completed her undergraduate training at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she earned a degree in biology. 

Heidi has also done missionary work in Nicaragua which helped shape her decision to pursue primary care training.  She is very dedicated to her family who still live in North Dakota, and will brave the long drive from Missouri every chance she can to see her newborn niece.

Heidi’s a “bad vegetarian” and loves to eat out.  She also plays the trumpet.  For sports, Heidi plays racquetball and she loves drag racing, having been a racecar driver herself when she was in high school. 

Heidi is looking forward to a career in primary care when she finishes her residency and wants to serve in a health care needs area, likely in the Midwest.
