Laura Gonzalez, M.D.
|
Laura attended St.
Louis University for her undergraduate education and obtained a Bachelor
of Arts with Honors in Spanish and graduated summa cum laude. After
becoming enthralled with medicine during her experience with ER work,
Laura changed her career goals from obtaining a PhD to entering medical
school. She then moved to
Columbia and entered the University of Missouri School of Medicine where
she excelled and was accepted into AOA during her senior year. She also received the Harvey F. Howitt
Memorial Scholarship. Laura entered our Med/Peds residency
program in 2004. Her work experience includes a wide
variety of jobs from seamstress to scholarship assistant for the
Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis. |

She was also employed
as a Home Health Educator and provided training for pregnant
woman and new mothers. As apparent from her undergraduate
studies, Laura is fluent in Spanish and has an interest in
serving various populations, both domestically and
internationally. Laura describes medicine as a “passion”
and this is evident in the determination and effort she puts
forth every day. She also loves spending time with her
daughters Cio and Sonia. |
