Sarah Smitherman

 

She is a wonderful addition and brings many exciting qualities to the residency. 

 

Sarah was born in Sedalia, Missouri and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. 

 

Upon graduation she matriculated to the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine where she graduated valedictorian.

  Both Sarah and her husband, Eric enjoy traveling and taking care of their daughter Rachel.  When she was younger, Sarah was a ballet dancer and has performed in London.  She still likes to see a good ballet and can be caught doing pirouettes at the nurse's station. 
 

Sarah enjoys the piano, pina coladas, and getting caught in the ran.  She was elected into AOA as a Junior and was active in community service programs with her med school class.  Sarah's not sure what she'll do after residency just yet, but she is interested in nephrology and hematology/oncology.
