Our Mission Statement
Our mission
is to train caring and compassionate Med/Peds physicians with an
emphasis on teaching, research, and community service, who are well
equipped to pursue a broad range of career paths.
The
University of Missouri Med/Peds residency program has two primary goals:
To provide the highest quality, evidence-based patient care and to
educate resident physicians to do the same. Fostering research
interests among our residents is rapidly increasing in importance as
well. The Med/Peds program at University of Missouri Hospital and
Clinics (UMHC) strives to provide an outstanding residency experience
through the dedication of our faculty to outstanding clinical teaching
and the personal and supportive nature of the residents and attending
physicians. As demonstrated by the varied careers of our alumni, the
training available at UMHC prepares graduates for a number of diverse
professional pathways including primary care, hospitalist medicine,
emergency medicine, and subspecialty training. Med/Peds residents are
also encouraged to seek out leadership positions during their residency
so they will be prepared to become influential members of the community.
